The Mayor of Bury Awards Eastern Eye The Gold Award Certificate 2009.

Invited by the Bury Curry Club the Mayor and Mayoress of Bury Presented the Gold Award to the Staff of The Eastern Eye.

President Jet Vyas acompanied by Vice President Steve Treadgold made a special visit with the Mayor and Mayoress of Bury and 32 members to present the Eastern Eye Restaurant the Coveted Gold Award Certificate for the second year running. 

The Mayor Councillor Sheila Magnall lives in Ramsbottom and is pictured right presenting the certificate to the Executive Chef. Interestingly the Mayor is wearing the Ramsbottom Mayoral Chain. The occassion was to present the Bangla Fusion our Gold Standard Award 2007 certificate which was awarded to the restaurant following the visit by eighteen members on Friday 25th October 2007.

Jet and Steve where delighted to present a cake donated by member Gary Newman of Newmans of Radcliffe (Best Chorley cakes in the world) fame. The cake is pictured left.

Owners Rubel and Ash presented the club with special lamb and tandoori dishes. Rubel's Father who cooked the food wanted to give the club a taste of the food he has at home these are pictured below.

The meal which included Popadums, Chutney, Mixed Starter and Four Special Dishes on each table of four came out at £16.00 a head and was voted by all as exellent value with  an average score of 4.8.
